D1 Wet Palette Teaser

Finals are finished.  and all I'm waiting on is getting some displays finished up for photos. I originally was going to do an additional lid or two, and instead (as promised) went to 11 after my standard level 10. The medallions are printed separate, as is the insert lid so you can choose which to go with. The design is meant to be used on any standard printer, but in doing so, I'm giving you the option (as I did for my own) to print the medallions themselves in a higher resolution.     The patterning and textures I use are meant to be accented by the typical 0.20 layer heights, while by preference you can go crazy on the medallions (I prefer 0.05) since they are small. They look good either way, I just like to allow option. Included with the release will also be a medallion blank and a tutorial so you can easily make your own. I had to challenge myself a little to hold back on my symmetry OCD, to retain the look of carved stone.   One of my testers noted that (And I quote) "You know aside from this being a damn fine wet palette,...

D1 Wet Palette Almost Finished...

I had to temporarily set aside the D1 Modder's Paint Rack Corner Module to wait on incoming wood filaments, theres been a delay from the manufacturer and you all know I'm picky about my finished item photography. That said, I finished up the Wet Palette and have been testing it. Looks like I'm happy and will be decking the finished design out for photography a little later today, so expect this to be released real soon.   Why? Who wants to order the "Poo-Poo Palette"? Not in this son's lab. We do it with style. Like mummified lizard on your favorite chair style. "It's the little nubbies that keep you wanting more."     Some features not apparent in the notebook renders shown here: Optional Magnets for securing the lid. Stackable! (Stackable you say?) A second and third alternate lid design. These are super secret for a good reason. I like blowing you away.  Some people (like me) prefer keeping different types of paints seperate - I approach this in the design and hope you enjoy the thought put into this as much as I have had designing it.

D1 Series Terrain & Effects Masks:   Another angle on cranking up the efficiency and precision you have with terrain models while they are in progress. While it's not needed, I designed it and came up with these as part of my system.   Find out about updates, ask questions, or see whats in the line for the next level of boomity-boom. I'm not stopping with just this folks. Hit our group here:  Modder's Lab   Included is a  bonus 9th mask  as shown in the documentation tutorial. Print as many as you like. D1 Terrain & Effects Easel Released!

Self Indulgent, yes. Useful? Of course. Remember, it's all about good tools, so why dont you up your bench with good looking stuff? I like mixing both.   My angle on cranking up the efficiency and precision you have with terrain models while they are in progress. If youre like me, while working models theres never enough scatter laying around the bench to lean them up against. Jitters. Bad angles. Cats... Your Modder's Jutsu demands daily practice. Practice on the technique, not swatting the stray macaque or cursing the light.   It's in our store:   Purchase It here!   Ok, terrain- tiles specifically. Anyone who's cranking them out knows you can amass craploads of it to do. While I'm not adverse to brushing the tiles, I prefer the airbrush as it can speed things along and in my view, give a much more detailed result. Personally, I don't like my work, and even terrain to look like production line shit. In upcoming videos you'll see exactly what I mean and this little system I'm working on lets you kick things up a few notches. In the example shots you'll see a basic floor tile. You can snot wash on it...

Finishing Up The D1 Easel

This one was fun. Just finishing up the printing on the display version.   What is this exactly?   Ok, terrain- tiles specifically. Anyone who's cranking them out knows you can amass craploads of it to do. While I'm not adverse to brushing the tiles, I prefer the airbrush as it can speed things along and in my view, give a much more detailed result. Personally, I don't like my work, even terrain to look like production line shit. In upcoming videos you'll see exactly what I mean and this little system I'm working on lets you kick things up a few notches. In the example note shots you'll see a basic floor tile. You can snot wash on it for detail, but I go a few more levels beyond 10 here- and the airbrush helps you achieve exactly that. Problem is, I'm a over caffeinated being most of the time and while working on alot of parts it can get tedious rotating the target and sometimes your angle isn't consistent between one to the next. I designed the easel to let you concentrate on your technique without having to constantly adjust for your hands being shakey from that coffee...  That...
